Wonderful Casserole of Chicken Cordon Bleu

I needed to find a soothing casserole using ingredients I already had in my pantry, so I created this amazing recipe for chicken Cordon Bleu casserole. The end product is a rich, creamy, and luscious casserole that will satisfy even the most discriminating palates! If you have leftover cooked chicken, this comes together quickly.

Ingredients

  1. 8 ounces egg noodles
  2. 1/2 cup butter
  3. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  4. 1 1/2 cups 1% milk
  5. 1/2 cup half-and-half
  6. 1 teaspoon salt
  7. 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  8. 2 tablespoons white wine
  9. 6 ounces shredded Swiss cheese
  10. 2 cups cubed cooked chicken
  11. 5 ounces diced ham
  12. 1 cup garlic butter croutons
  13. 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  14. 1 tablespoon melted butter


Directions:

Step: No:01

Turn the oven on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Coat a 9 x 13-inch casserole pan with oil.

Step: No:02

Bring a big saucepan of water that has been lightly salted to a rolling boil. Bring back to a boil after adding the noodles. Cook noodles, uncovered, tossing regularly, for 5 to 8 minutes, or until they are firm to the biting but still soft. Empty

Step: No:03

As you wait, prepare a roux: In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 5 minutes, or until bubbling and light brown. Add the half-and-half, milk, pepper, and salt. Simmer until mixture thickens, stirring regularly.

Step: No:04

Take off the heat and thoroughly combine the wine, shredded Swiss cheese, diced chicken, and ham.

Step: No:05

In a large bowl, thoroughly mix the cooked noodles and chicken mixture. Transfer to the casserole dish that has been ready.

Step: No:06

Place the croutons and Parmesan cheese in the food processor bowl and pulse until the mixture is finely crushed. Add the melted butter and pulse to combine a few times. Place crouton mixture on top of casserole.

Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in a preheated oven, or until hot, bubbling, and gently browned on top.
