Easy Fish Tacos recipes

 These spicy homemade white sauced crispy fish tacos are paired with shredded cabbage! Garnish with freshly squeezed lime wedges and serve with homemade pico de gallo.

Ingredients:


Beer Batter:


  1. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  2. 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  3. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  4. ½ teaspoon salt
  5. 1 cup beer
  6. 1 egg

White Sauce:

  1. ½ cup plain yogurt
  2. ½ cup mayonnaise
  3. 1 lime, juiced
  4. 1 jalapeno pepper, minced
  5. 1 teaspoon minced capers
  6. 1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  7. ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  8. ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  9. ½ teaspoon dried dill weed

Fish Tacos:

  1. 1 quart oil for frying
  2. 1 pound cod fillets, cut into 2 to 3 ounce portions
  3. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, or more as needed
  4. 1 (12 ounce) package corn tortillas
  5. ½ medium head cabbage, finely shredded


Directions:

Step:No:01

To prepare the beer batter, mix the flour, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt together in a big bowl. In a separate basin, blend the egg and beer; immediately add into flour mixture until blended, leaving a few lumps.

Step:No:02

To make the white sauce, combine mayonnaise and yogurt in a medium-sized bowl. Add the fresh lime juice gradually, stirring until the mixture becomes somewhat runny. Add dill, cumin, oregano, cayenne, jalapeño, and capers for seasoning.

Step:No:03

Make the fish tacos first: In a deep fryer, heat the oil to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).

Step:No:04

Lightly dust fish pieces with flour. Put aside.

Step:No:05

Dredge fish pieces in flour and then beer batter. Put aside.

Step:No:06

Fry in heated oil until golden brown and crisp. blot with paper towels. Fry tortillas in heated oil until they are somewhat crunchy, but not overly so. blot with paper towels.

Step:No:07

Top fried fish with shredded cabbage and white sauce and wrap them in tortillas.
