Perfectly crispy chicken wings topped with the fluffiest buttermilk waffles and a warm honey glaze!
Ingredients:
FOR THE BUTTERMILK WAFFLES.
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 ⅔ cups buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

Set the waffle iron to medium-high heat and preheat the oven to 200 degrees F. Apply a little layer of oil to the waffle iron's top and bottom or use nonstick spray.

Mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a big bowl.Step:NO:03
Mix the butter, eggs, and buttermilk in a separate bowl or a sizable glass measuring cup. Using a rubber spatula, gently swirl the mixture over the dry ingredients until it becomes moist.Step:NO:04
Transfer a little amount of the buttermilk mixture—about 1/2 cup—into the waffle iron, carefully close it, and cook for 4–5 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Keep warm in the oven.
FOR THE CHICKEN.

Mix the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, cayenne, two teaspoons of salt, and one teaspoon of pepper in a big basin.

Dredge each chicken piece individually in the flour mixture, dip it into the buttermilk, and then coat it once more, pressing to get a coating.Step:NO:03
Using a deep-fry thermometer, heat vegetable oil in a large stockpot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat until it reaches 360 degrees Fahrenheit.

Working in batches, add the chicken and cook for about 4–5 minutes, or until golden brown, flipping regularly. Move to a baking sheet that has a wire rack attached, and maintain the heat.Step:NO:05
