Rice and Ground Beef Casserole

 This rice and ground beef casserole is the ideal dish to make use of any leftover ingredients from your refrigerator.

Ingredients:


  1. 1 pound lean ground beef
  2. 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  3. 1 medium tomato, chopped
  4. 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  5. 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  6. 1 tablespoon minced onion
  7. 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  8. 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  9. 1 teaspoon dried basil
  10. salt and ground black pepper to taste
  11. 2 cups cooked rice
  12. ½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese


Directions:

Step:No:01

Turn the oven on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

Step:No:02

A big skillet should be heated at medium-high heat. For five to seven minutes, or until browned and crumbly, cook and stir the ground beef in the hot skillet. Stir in tomato, bell pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. For about five minutes, cook and toss the pepper until it softens slightly. Half of the liquid from the chopped tomatoes in can be strained and added to the mixture.

Add salt, pepper, oregano, basil, chopped tomatoes, onion, and garlic to the ground beef mixture. Simmer for about ten minutes, or until part of the liquid has decreased. Mix thoroughly after adding the rice. Spoon into a casserole dish and top with Cheddar cheese.

Step:No:04

Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the filling is well heated.
