Pastafarian Spaghetti

Cowboy spaghetti is a unique take on pasta, meat, and tomato sauce that will appeal to all palates. It includes bacon, cheese, and noodles. The fact that it's a cast iron skillet supper that only requires one dish is its best feature.

Ingredients:

  1. 6 strips bacon
  2. 1 onion, chopped
  3. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  5. 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  6. 1 pound ground beef
  7. 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  8. 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  9. 2 teaspoons hot sauce, or to taste
  10. 8 ounces spaghetti noodles
  11. 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chiles (such as Ro-Tel® Original)
  12. 1 (14.5 ounce) can fire roasted tomatoes
  13. 1 (4 ounce) can tomato sauce
  14. 1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  15. 3 green onions, sliced, or as needed for garnis

Directions:

Step:No:01

After adding the bacon to a big cast-iron skillet, cook it over medium-high heat for about 7 minutes, tossing it occasionally, until it starts to crisp up. Place the bacon slices on a platter covered with paper towels. Once the bacon has cooled down enough to handle, roughly crumble and reserve.

Step:No:02

In the same skillet with the bacon fat, add the onion and cook for about three minutes, or until softened. Add the pepper, salt, and garlic. Stir for about 30 seconds, or until garlic is aromatic.

Step:No:03

Add the ground beef. For about five minutes, or until the beef is crumbled and no longer pink, cook and stir. Reduce the heat to medium-low and mix in the spicy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Add half of the crumbled bacon and stir.

Step:No:04

Noodles should be broken in half. As you distribute, make sure the noodles stay apart from the ground meat. Over noodles, drizzle tomato sauce, fire-roasted tomatoes, and tomatoes with green chilies. Cook for 20 minutes with a cover on.

Step:No:05

Take off the lid and mix the pasta and sauce together. Evenly distribute the shredded cheese over the mixture after smoothing it out. Add the leftover bacon in a sprinkle. Give the cheese five minutes to melt under cover. Add some green onions as a garnish and serve right away.
